Transit Residency NFP (TRANSIT)

Serving artists from multiple disciplines within written, visual, music and performance arts, who seek opportunities to create in an urban environment and/or specifically culturally rich Chicago, TRANSIT is intentionally transient. We accordion our programs’ scale based on artists’ needs and our budgeted, available funds. Transit plugs artists into a range of existing arts communities/facilities in Chicago (our Inbound programs), allowing visiting artists to engage with the larger community. Chicago artists have opportunities to experience working elsewhere temporarily, and then showcase their work in our gallery upon returning (our Outbound programs). TRANSIT’s “storefront” gallery/-ies will bring more art and discourse to Logan Square.
