Milwaukee Avenue Arts Festival: New Weekend. New Layout. New Partnerships.

I Am Logan Square is pleased to announce the dates and location for the fifth annual Milwaukee Avenue Arts Festival.  The festival will take place Friday, June 28th through Sunday, June 30th on Milwaukee Avenue, between Diversey and Kedzie. This new festival layout, one contiguous site entirely on Milwaukee Avenue, will make this the largest MAAF to date.  

 

Beauty and Brawn and Think Space Present: "Her"

Chicago -   Logan Square's Beauty and Brawn Art Gallery and Think Space shows its feminine "brawn" with the works of 6 Chicago based female artists in the exhibition "Her". The opening reception will be held on May 11, 2013 (6 pm - 10 pm) at the gallery located at 3501 W. Fullerton, Chicago, IL 60647. Music and refreshments will be provided.

Using sculpture, painting, photography and installation, their work discusses the roles of women, culture and relationships through the brutally honest act of simply being female.

Cafe Mustache Expands Events and Menu

 As Cafe Mustache closes the books on another great year and looks forward to another one, we have some exciting changes to announce. We’re expanding our calendar of events to six days a week, with live music, DJs, and other events now happening Monday through Saturday. Make sure to check our website, or follow us on Facebook or Twitter to stay informed of all the latest performances at Cafe Mustache. Going forward, the Cafe will be closed at 8PM on Sundays, and wifi will not be available after 8PM Monday through Saturday.

DROPSHIFT DANCE: MEMENTO

RESISTANCE: INDIGENOUS REBELS SOUNDS & ART

Chicago, IL - November 13, 2012 – Rebel Diaz and Quese IMC headline Indigenous Resistance multi-cutural and multi-ethnic art and music event celebrating Native American Heritage Month. These two performers have been sharing stage in more than 100 cities in the US as well as Latin America and Europe on stages that range from Concert halls to University Auditoriums to Cultural Centers and social/political demostrations like the Occupy Wall Street movements, Anti-Nato and marched against the Arizona's Law SB 1070. The event will take place at multikulti community center located at 1000 N.

Gallerista

Gallerista is a digital service connecting contemporary artists to potential patrons, collectors and the public at large. This new channel showcases artists and their work, providing profiles to engage and inform collectors, while driving online traffic to artists’ individual websites and the spaces which foster them. Furthermore, Gallerista’s focus on collectorship provides patrons with tools to access and navigate the Chicago art world, whether or not they are familiar with it culturally or geographically.

Gallery Opening: “Landscapes: Industrial & Imagined”

Established in Chicago in 1999, Century Guild (centuryguild.net), specializes in museum quality turn-of-the-century  lithography, ceramics, and objects, as well as contemporary works by artists whoose technique and substance reflects the La Belle Epoque style. As we prepare to move our private gallery to Los Angeles, we have decided to open publically for three months at 2644.5 N. Milwaukee, adjacent to the historic Logan Square Theatre.     

Visual Arts: Christopher Schneberger

Christopher Schneberger’s newest works are coming to Printworks Gallery, 311 W. Superior, Suite 105, Chicago, IL 60654 from October 19 – November 24, 2012.

Art On Track

Saturday, September 22nd 5pm-10pm
Art on Track is the world's largest mobile art gallery. AoT takes place on board a moving six-car CTA train. Each train car is given over for free to a different local artist or arts group to curate. You are invited to board the train and view the artwork. Once aboard the train, passengers in the gallery are encouraged to explore and engage with the artists and artwork.
The AoT train will run along the Blue Line traveling back and forth between the Logan Square and UIC-Halstead stations.
