I Am Logan Square Inaugurates its New Gallery with a Chicago Artists Month Exhibition - August, 2011 (Read More)

I Am Logan Square is celebrating Chicago Artists’ Month 2011 this October by hosting the Friends of Transit Print Invitational and inviting the public to visit its new gallery space! IALS’s inaugural exhibition will run from October 1-30, with an opening reception on Friday, October 7th, from 6 to 8:30 pm at 2644 N. Milwaukee Avenue, Chicago IL 60647. Local favorites like Revolution Brewing’s craft beers, Telegraph’s wines, and Café con Leche/D’Noche and Paper Moon Pastry’s tasty hors d’oeuvres will be on hand for the celebration. Gallery hours will be from 10 am to 6pm every Tuesday to Saturday throughout the month of October.

IALS is proud to be partnering with the Logan Square-based nonprofit organization Transit Residency to present an exhibition of local print makers including Celene Aubry (Moongirl Productions), Marnie Galloway (Monkey-Rope Press), Dan Grzeca, Cj Hungerman, Kathleen Judge (Judgeworks), Matthew Messmer, Rebecca Ann Rakstad (Rar Rar Press), Jen Thomas (Veronica Press), Sarah F. Vogel (Slow Industries), and Hamilton Museum of Wood Type and Printing, in Wisconsin, to name a few.

The theme of this show continues to explore Transit's love of travel. Sales support Transit’s efforts to help artists find time and space to focus on making new bodies of work. A residency program without space, Transit’s "artful network" casts a geographically wide net and brings together a vast network of Chicago as well as national and international artists, writers, and performers who want to connect with the culture and people of Chicago to foster a creative exchange.
