MRI Bucharest
RMN Bucuresti (MRI) is a safe and painless method of investigation, with the ability to examine many areas of the body in detail. It is used to diagnose diseases or conditions that may not be easily identified by other methods, such as X-rays and computed tomography (CT).
To perform an MRI scan you lie on a narrow table that slides into the opening of the machine. During the examination you are asked to remain very still, as any movement can cause distortion and affect the quality of the results. At intervals you are given a signal to breathe, or not to breath, depending on the area being examined.

A technician watches you during the procedure from another room. Those with claustrophobia may not tolerate an MRI, although open scanners and medical sedation are available to make the procedure easier to endure. If you have any medical implants or metallic objects, please inform the radiologist as they may cause distortion of the images.
MRI Bucharest is an open centre with state-of-the-art equipment from General Electric. We use the GE SIGNA Explorer 1.5T magnet, which provides outstanding imaging, particularly of the brain and the soft tissues of the body. The MRI equipment is fitted with an intravenous line, making it possible to administer contrast agent if necessary. The contrast agent is well tolerated by patients, and is much less likely to cause allergic reactions or alter kidney function than X-ray contrast agents.
